Life Alters - 'Ring for Champagne'

Inspired by the ‘buchette del vino’ (wine walls) of Florence—tiny windows in the walls of palazzos where customers can ring a bell to have a glass of wine. The artwork aims to remind people to make space for slow ‘moments of pleasure’ in the chaos of our world.

Designed as part of a series of wall artworks designed to encourage us to take a moment to light a candle, pick a flower or look at a photo on the alter to remember a loved one. Inviting us to take a moment to slow down, reflect or celebrate and ring for Champagne (or tea)! A pause-to-remember philosophy practised across many cultures around the world, my aim is to bring some tradition in a contemporary way to our everyday.
