Explore a curated collection of Miriam’s hand-built, sculptural ceramic work, where imagination meets conceptual craft.
Miriam is currently exploring these over-arching themes in her work:
The Slow Life; Channeling the Japanese principles; ‘To follow nature,’ drawing from an appreciation of organic, natural forms + embracing the ‘Wabi Sabi’ - finding the beauty in imperfection, transience, and simplicity. Bringing nature into focus and collapsing the distance between nature and ourselves.
Nostalgic Memoirs; Re-imagining objects of cultural desire; drawn from a golden-light filled, colour-drenched, time-faded capsule of the mind. For tens of thousands of years, every culture has developed it’s own styles, colours, patterns and techniques to reflect the culture of the time. Miriam is interested in exploring what characterises our time, in hundreds of years from now.
Human Connection; Examining the infinite value and wonder of friendship, love, grief, kinship and community + leaning into the enrichment and rituals of feasting and gathering together for connection.
"The power of gathering: it inspires us, delightfully, to be more hopeful, more joyful, more thoughtful: in a word, more alive." - Alice Waters
